Summary

Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone secretagogue and ghrelin receptor agonist (GHSR-1a). It stimulates GH release with high selectivity — minimal effect on cortisol or prolactin compared to other GHRPs. It is commonly stacked with CJC-1295 (no DAC) for a synergistic GH pulse.

Ipamorelin is the 'clean' GH releaser. Older growth hormone-releasing peptides (GHRP-2, GHRP-6) also spiked cortisol and prolactin as side effects, which you don't want. Ipamorelin triggers a GH pulse with very little of that spillover. It works through the ghrelin receptor — a different receptor than CJC — so pairing them gives a bigger combined pulse than either alone.

Mechanism of Action

Binds and activates the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) on pituitary somatotrophs. The pentapeptide structure confers selectivity for GH release without significant off-target ACTH/cortisol or prolactin stimulation. Synergy with GHRH agonists (CJC-1295) is mediated by different receptor systems converging on cAMP/IP3 signaling in somatotrophs.

Half-life: ~2 hours

Research Dosing Ranges
⚠ Research reference only — not medical advice, not for human use.

100–300 µg per injection

2–3× daily; frequently paired with CJC-1295 no DAC

Pre-sleep injection most common. Empty stomach optimizes GH response.

Reconstitution Guidance

BAC water: 3 mL

Resulting concentration: 1.67 mg/mL (for 5 mg vial)

Add 3 mL BAC water to 5 mg vial → 1.67 mg/mL. 200 µg dose = 120 µL = ~12 units U-100.

Storage & Stability

Refrigerate. Use reconstituted solution within 28 days.

Known Side Effects / Contraindications
⚠ Research reference only — not medical advice, not for human use.

Water retention, increased appetite (ghrelin agonism), flushing, lightheadedness. Fewer cortisol/prolactin effects than GHRP-2 or GHRP-6.
